Archos made its presence known at CES today by unveiling its new line of affordable, powerful tablets. Named the Titanium line, Archos is releasing 4 new tablets that offer similar features to some pricier offerings out there. The Titanium line of tablets will come in four varying sizes: 7?, 8?,9.7? and 10.1?. The naming scheme follows their sizing, and are as follows: the 70,80,101 Titanium and 97 Titanium HD.
The Titanium line offers some excellent specs considering the price points. All units include an HD IPS display, dual-core 1.6Ghz Quad Core processor, and Android Jelly Bean 4.1. Users will also get access to the Google Play Store, as well as Archos Media Center applications. All of the tablets in the Titanium line have been engineered to take on competitors with similar specs. The Titanium 97 HD, Archos’ direct iPad competitor, is said to have 8GB storage and 1GB of RAM, as well as a microSD slot. With a resolution of up to 2048 x 1536 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio, the 97HD’s display offers an iPad-like experience at half the price. The 70, which will retail for $119 is a direct competitor to the likes of Amazon and other lower priced tablets.
As far as pricing goes, the Titanium line varies from $119 to $249. The 70 is priced at $119, the 80 $169, the 101 $199 and the 97HD $249.
More specs will be released soon, but needless to say if you haven’t picked up a tablet yet you might want to hold out for one of these. With their sleek design, low price point and Android 4.1, Archos’ Titanium line looks like a force to be reckoned with.
