It arrived after 6 days . Just to reiterate the very long response times. I've read about publishing houses that take up to 6 months to respond. It arrived for me on February 17th and it started like this: Dear Daniele, the book interests us… And I have to say that I stared at the message preview for a few minutes before I had the courage to open the email. A few lines, a probable release date of the book and the general conditions of the contract, waiting to prepare the definitive text if I had accepted them.
The publishing contract Next week you will read a comparison between the (serious) contract I had for this book and the (fake) contract that another publisher sent me for my first book on blogging. The publishing contract , as we saw in the interview with the lawyer some time ago, is an agreement between the two parties. It is obvious that the publisher is the Special Data stronger party - he is not obliged to publish our book and is investing money in us - but it is equally obvious that, if he has decided to publish our work, he can help us on some aspects of the contract. The editing I talked about my experience with the editor last week. The manuscript was delivered by the end of April, as expected by the publishing house, and editing would begin thereafter. We only worked on the text in July, writing continuously practically every day.
In the end, with all the times I reread the text, I couldn't take it anymore. But it was a great experience. The right book from the right publisher In my case the publisher was right because my book was inspired by a work they published. Who else could I have proposed it to? There was no point in choosing another publisher. Furthermore, having already read one of their books, I had an idea of how they worked. This is why I always say that we need to study the catalog of publishing houses carefully and not send the manuscript to the first one that comes to hand or to all of them without distinction. So this is my adventure with the blogging book. And I hope, as soon as possible, to be able to tell a similar story in a fiction book.
